1 Diet; 2 Diet; 3 Diet; 4...

Is there a “I HATE DIETS” diet?

So many of you have jumped from fad diet to fad diet (go on, admit it) – you’ve probably heard of them: either it’s no carbs or no fats, drink or eat only juices, soups or salads, or the “you can only eat our food” to lose weight and keep it off. These programs often drastically cuts or eliminate at least one of the body’s ‘must have’ nutrients, which eventually causes you to tumble off the wagon. In other words: “no” is the constant here.

There’s also the Atkins diet, and the Mediterranean diet, and LA Weightloss and Jenny Craig, and, and, and… Again, some of you have probably hopped, skipped or jumped from one diet to another, sometimes succeeding and sometimes, well… not so much. Eventually, the diet either stopped working for you or you just couldn’t live off pre-packed meals, branded bars or no carbs (mmm, carbs). Now, don’t get us wrong – some people will swear by these diets, so we aren’t saying they don’t work for some. But there are better ways.

We absolutely need ‘the good stuff’ in the form of healthy fats, carbs and proteins. Warning – skip the rest of this paragraph if you don’t want to read the truth: if you cut out one of these essential nutrients long enough, your body will, sooner or later, let you know it’s done with your bullsh*& and start protesting in the form of no energy, dull skin and hair, pain in your joints and muscles, and you will hit a weight-loss plateau – and these are just a few of the more minor effects of nutrient deprivation.

Now, if you’ve gotten this far into our post, we are going to assume you have tried at least one of these diets without success. What if we said you can eat real, whole delicious food and lose weight at the same time? Heard that before, right? What many people don’t understand is you literally have to LEARN how to eat healthy.

Jump off the cycle of frustration

and disappointment

Don’t you want to break the cycle of dieting?

Diet starts (let’s do this!) ===>

Cravings (What? I can’t eat…) ===>

Submit/Disgust (you fall off the wagon) ===>

Weight Regain/Disappointment (you kept falling…)

So let’s break the roller-coaster/cycle of dieting. In other words, the ‘diet’ becomes about making healthy choices in the proper proportion – for your body – without depriving yourself. You move away from being on a diet, which is most likely temporary, to making healthy, life-long nutritional choices. And once you have that bit of knowledge (in the form of a proper plan) in place, you are golden!

And one more tiny bit of wisdom: what works for your friend’s body may not sit well with yours.

Keep your eyes peeled for the final piece to this puzzle.
